Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I share the random things I’m into: personal projects, hobbies, food, travels, thoughts, opinions, and the occasional product review. It’s a mix, and that’s the fun of it.

Work in a nutshell

I’ve worked in marketing and performance analytics since 2015, after graduating from Eastern Michigan University with a dual major in finance and marketing. I spent years on the agency side and, in 2024, moved client-side to Ford Motor Company, focusing on campaign measurement. I love the blend of data, experimentation, and impact.

My general vibe

I’m a serial hobbyist who takes the 80/20 rule to the limit. I’m a proud jack-of-many-trades and a master of the stuff I do for work. I like learning, tinkering, and building systems that make life a little smoother.

Things I’m into

Technology
Consumer tech nerd to the fullest. I was installing Linux on laptops at 12 and still have too many gadgets around the house. I binge videos, devour podcasts, and read all the news. Faithful Verge reader. I love retro tech deep dives. Software and hardware? Yes.

Productivity
Forever tweaking systems. Lists, databases, automation, AI, smart tools… the process is the point now, not just the outcome.

Running
Track and cross-country in high school turned into half and full marathons as an adult.

Strength training
When I’m not training for a race, I’m in the basement lifting barbells and dumbbells. Your body is like a 401k—invest in muscle now for later, inspired by Jordan at Barbell Medicine.

Sports
NFL: New England Patriots and Detroit Lions. College: Michigan Wolverines and Eastern Michigan Eagles. Family affiliations explain the split loyalties.

Writing
I always have a writing project. Blogs, satire, journals—you name it, I’ve dabbled. Am I good? Doesn’t matter. It’s fun.

Gaming
Not “a gamer,” but I play games. PC with Steam, lots of Guild Wars 2, plus retro on the Retroid Pocket and Miyoo Mini+. More into RPGs than twitchy FPS.

Food & drinks
I eat everything and love trying new cuisines while traveling. At home, I make pizza and bread and lean toward savory bakes.

Outdoors
Hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, swimming, biking, backpacking. If it’s outside, I’m game.

Music
A lot of electronic: House and Techno. Also alt rock, indie, indie pop, and dream pop.

Travel
My wife and I aim for at least one international trip a year, plus lots of U.S. trips. Favorites: Japan, Iceland, Costa Rica.

Movies
Sci-fi, drama, comedy. All-time favorites include Blade Runner (both), Dune (the new ones), and Star Wars.

Photography
Long-time interest that clicked in 2025 when I picked up a Fujifilm X-T30 II and a couple lenses. After many books, videos, and practice hours, I now take slightly less bad photos—and love the process.

Skiing
I live in flat Michigan but chase mountains with an Ikon pass when I can, out West or up to Boyne. I actually got back into running to build ski fitness.

Why I write here

This site is a home base for documenting, thinking out loud, and sharing what I learn. If any of it helps or entertains, even better. If not, I still had fun making it.
